Ryder System Warehouse Associate in Del Rio, Texas
This position is in charge of keeping the building clean and in an orderly condition. This is a semi-skilled employee who works directly using various cleaning supplies and various machines.
Must keep the floors clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.
In charge of gathering trash and emptying it in the main containers to be picked up by trash collectors.
In charge of servicing, cleaning and supplies the bathrooms.
In charge of most all of the cleaning and keeping of the building.
This position does not require a higher education as most of the training is done by the supervisor, must have a high school diploma.
Must be capable of understanding instructions both written and oral methods. Able to give directions in a manner that someone will understand what you are trying to convey. Works with many different people and therefore must be able to work well with others and have a good relationships with personnel.
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Cleans the windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dusts the furniture, walls, machines, and equipment making sure that everything is kept cleaned and maintained.
Must have an understanding of cleaning chemicals and how they work when mixed together.
Must mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
Must be aware of the hazmat instruction in case of an accident.
Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Six months of related warehouse experience required (one year experience preferred)
Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Ability to input data into several WMS computer systems
Ability to learn to operate powered industrial truck(s), such as: stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc, including how to operate and maintain (change battery, recognize common mechanical issues)
May be required to operate manual and/or automated other warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line)
Works overtime as assigned.
Perform the assigned tasks as described in the location's policies and procedures standards to include handling of materials within associated logical transactions
Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials
Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions as required
Participate in workgroup and other team activities for the purpose of self improvement and improving warehouse operations and related business functions
Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers
Ensure all scanning is completed correctly
Help train dock employees on new procedures
Ensure facility is secure at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping
Perform picking and packing duties
Check for evidence of product or container damage
Performs housekeeping duties for assigned area
May operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
